Upon custom check in LCCT, Oma's facial foam was confiscated because the item is more than 100ml. Oma was so frustrated as the foam is still new and she has used it only 3 times.
When we arrived at Juanda Airport, Surabaya before the imigresen check, we have to walk pass a special gate that sanitised our body, hand and also bags. Maybe, this is the way they prevent the spread of H1N1 virus in their country. We have to stand at that special gate and put our hands in a hole attached at the side of the gate and it automatically spray something on us. The smell was like hospital smell.
We were picked up by Om John, his wife, and his two beautiful daughter, Herlin and Riska.
Celcom do not have auto roaming, so Ibu phone was useless.... have to used Oma phone (auto roaming by Maxis).
From airport, we went for dinner at a restaurant... which name Ibu do not know...
After dinner, we checked in to the Hotel, i.e. Hotel Widodaren.
From the posting and review in the Internet, the hotel should be acceptable budget hotel. But to Ibu suprise the hotel was located behind a Pasar Buah that looks like Pasar Chow Kit.
The interior room was just ok but the bed sheet and the towel was not as clean and white as it should be. Despite that, the bathroom was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Furthermore, most of the local attraction is walking distance. i.e Pasar Emas, Tradisional Market, Pasar Baluran, Tanjungan Plaza etc.
However, Ibu and Oma only stayed at the Hotel for one night and do not have any opportunity to visit most of the local attraction. After checked out, we stayed at Om John's house. His house is in the navy quarter, so he took us for tours inside the navy base... where we saw huge and big battleships and also a new bridge, Suramadu, that connect Surabaya and Madura.
On second day, we managed to go to ITC Mall and Pasar Emas, where Oma bought shoes, comforters and Ibu bought earrings for Sasha.
Last day, we went to Jambatan Merah Plaza, where Oma and Ibu managed to get new tudung, jubah and some souvenirs. Ibu also bought Sasha a red swimming suit.
When Ibu not shopping and stayed at home, watching TV, noted that Monahara stories was very popular in Indonesia... the stories keep airing almost every hour... Even when Ibu went to the mall, the salesgirl there also ask Ibu about Monahara case... whether it's really true, knowing Ibu was from Malaysia... Ibu have to answered that Monahara case was not popular in Malaysia and no Ibu cannot comments whether it's true or not...
Before Ibu went to Surabaya, Ibu already knew that the flight was delayed from 6.00pm to 8.00pm local time. Unfortunately, the flight was again delayed to 9.30pm due to a reason that was not disclosed. To add to the frustration, the free duty shop in Juanda is closed at 8.00 pm (very early), Ibu thought want to find fridge magnet...
See... Delayed...
Poor Oma... Bored and tired...We arrived at LCCT at about 12.30am... the walk from the plane to the terminal was so far and tiring... there was even small kids that cried because they do not want to walk and ask their parent to carry...
In the Terminal, our free duty shop was still opened and it's already 1.00am...
At arrival gate, Ucu Afiq has already waited and we travel back home... Ibu to Selayang where Abah and Sasha stayed and Oma to Rawang...
